Every 91桃色 staff member, faculty member, and student has the right to work and study in an environment free from discrimination and harassment and should be treated with dignity and respect. In addition, as a community of Christians, 91桃色 is committed to upholding respect and the charge to, 鈥溾€reat other people the same way you want them to treat you.鈥� Matthew 7:12. 91桃色 makes every effort to comply with legal requirements prohibiting, preventing, and responding to sexual misconduct against any member of the 91桃色 community.

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 states: 鈥淣o person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

Sexual Harassment, Discrimination, and Misconduct Policy

We take all forms of sexual misconduct and discrimination seriously, wherever it takes place in our 91桃色 community. These elements of our policy explain your rights and options as well as the college鈥檚 methods towards behavior that violates Title IX.

Jurisdiction

Title IX gives jurisdiction to 91桃色 upon any member of the 91桃色 community within any educational program or activity sponsored by the college. 91桃色 exercises control over both the respondent and the context in which the sexual harassment occurs. This includes on and off campus educational activities and programs within the United States.
Privacy

91桃色 believes in upholding the rights and privacy of reporting individuals. If a reporter does not wish for their name to be shared, an investigation to take place, or a formal resolution to be pursued, they may bring their request to the Title IX coordinator. The college will honor the request for confidentiality, given the circumstances do not violate the safety of the individual, the safety of the campus, or federal law.

If you are unsure whether or not to report an incident, you may speak with Stacy Butler OR Julie Sanchez. Mrs. Butler and Mrs. Sanchez are both appointed a confidential resource and are prohibited from revealing information to any other person unless
- given express permission by the person who disclosed the information
- there is an imminent threat of harm to self or others
- the suspected violation involves abuse of a minor under the age of 18
- as otherwise permitted by law or court order
- Mrs. Butler or Mrs. Sanchez is able to provide support, information, and guidance. You may file an electronic report or set an appointment to talk with her.

Confidential Report Form
Amnesty

The college encourages the reporting of any and all alleged sexual misconduct. However, victims and bystanders of sexual misconduct may be hesitant to report or help if they fear that they (or their friends) may be charged with a violation of another college policy, like the Alcohol and Drug Policy. To provide a safe environment for reporting, those who assist in an investigation under this policy will be granted immunity from being charged with violations of another college policy in connection to conduct of the allegation presented. The college may refer individuals to educational assistance or counseling in such cases, but no disciplinary measures will be enacted.

Emergency Help

If you or someone you know needs immediate help you should call 911. You have the right to report the incident to local law enforcement (Temple Terrace police or the jurisdiction where the assault occurred). If you are a victim of sexual misconduct, get to a safe place and contact a trusted friend or advisors, such as a roommate or dorm parent.

The time after an incident occurs is crucial to preserve sexual misconduct evidence. If you choose to have evidence collected, visit an emergency room within twenty four hours for an evidence examination. Try not to alter or wash your body before going to the hospital, if you choose to get this examination, as it will tamper with the evidence. If you change, bring your original clothing in a bag. Bring a trusted individual or advisor with you for support.

It is your decision to file a police report. If you choose to collect evidence at the hospital, the police will be notified by hospital staff, but it is your decision to speak to an officer. A sexual assault counselor will be offered to assist you in the hospital, answer questions, and explain your options during this process.

Options to Report an Incident

A person who has experienced a violation of the policy has the right to report that conduct 24 hours a day 7 days a week, and in most cases the right to request that an investigation stop at any point. 91桃色 will provide supportive measures to all parties from the beginning through the resolution of a reported incident.

If you are in imminent danger, or a crime has been committed call 911 or the Temple Terrace Police Department at (813) 506-6500.

Your report will confidentially go directly to the Title IX Coordinator. The Title IX Coordinator is obligated to follow up on the information provided.

Individuals wishing to remain anonymous may choose to not include their personal information, except for employees reporting an incident involving students. However, anonymous reports often limit the ability of the College to respond to a report.

Bystander Intervention

Even if you are not directly involved, there are steps you can take to help others:

Offer Support

Offer support if you suspect that a person is being abused or has been sexually assaulted or stalked.

Speak Out

Speak out against all forms of sexual violence.

Become an Advocate

Be an advocate for preventing sexual violence.

Be a Model for Others

Model the behavior that values respect for others and promotes moral behavior.
