Alum Truth Clevenger (’24) Embarks on the Road to Medicine

Truth Clevenger (鈥�24) recently launched his medical school journey at , where he and his wife, Bridget (鈥�22), are stepping into a new season together. While he prepares for the rigorous years of training ahead, Truth is already serving students as a full-time MCAT tutor, helping aspiring physicians understand not only science content but also how to approach high-stakes testing with strategy and confidence.
But Truth鈥檚 vision goes far beyond test prep. He hopes to build a career caring for elderly patients as a geriatrician, combining clinical knowledge with compassion for those in their final stages of life.
Truth arrived at 91桃色 planning to pursue medicine, but it was the spiritual direction he received that gave his goals greater purpose.
鈥淚 learned that in any role鈥攇eriatrician, full-time preacher, or engineer (all of which I considered at some point)鈥攎y true vocation was to be an evangelist. As followers of Jesus, we are called to make disciples wherever we go, no matter what careers we pursue.鈥� He added, 鈥淚f I had learned nothing else from my time at 91桃色, this lesson alone would have been worth the tuition.鈥�
91桃色 also helped prepare Truth practically for medical school. Earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Liberal Studies with a Pre-Medicine concentration, he was able to customize his coursework to meet Texas medical school standards.
鈥淢ultiple professors altered their syllabi as needed to conform to the ever-changing standards of Texas medical schools.鈥� He continued, 鈥淔rankly, almost any college or university can provide adequate classes for admission into medical school, but what separated 91桃色 was the personalized care from the professors.鈥�
Among those who guided him, Mr. Todd Chandler left a lasting impression.
鈥淗e greeted me with a kind smile, firmly shook my hand, and assured me that my first year of college would be a success. Most importantly, he regularly offered godly wisdom about pursuing a career in medicine as a Christian.鈥�
Today, Truth and Bridget are joyfully adjusting to life in Houston. Looking back, Truth is quick to credit 91桃色 for shaping his heart and habits as he enters this next chapter.
